Choice Based Lettings Top Tips & Myth Busters:


Top Tip #1
You can bid on a property regardless of your and the property's banding as long as you are eligible for that property.

Top Tip #2
You can place up to 3 bids in every lettings cycle.

Top Tip #3
You can ask for a review of your application within 21 days of receiving your registration details.

Top Tip #4
Bidding cycles last for 7 days.

Top Tip #5
If you are not contacted about a property you bid on, you have not been successful.

Top Tip #6
You MUST keep us informed of any changes.

Top Tip #7
Queue positions are not accurate.

You can text a bid.

You have to 'bid' to be considered for a property.

You must be registered to be considered for a property and you must also supply all the relevant documentation in support of your application.

Do not expect to be registered the day after you submit your housing application.

Be patient... the more waiting time you accrue, the more successful you will be with your bids.

If you are banded into a higher banding you will lose your waiting time.

Be realistic with your choice of areas.

Always get a receipt for any documents you provide for your housing application and any bids you place vis the area housing offices and reception at Saltergate.
